Acetic acid is used as a chemical reagent for the production of a number of chemical compounds. It is mainly used in the production of vinyl acetate monomer, acetic anhydride, and ester production. To purify organic compounds, acetic acid is used as a solvent for recrystallization. It can also be used as an antiseptic against pseudomonas, staphylococci, enterococci, streptococci, and others. Moreover, acetic acid finds its usage in the treatment of outer ear infections like the growth of fungus and bacteria. Acetic acid is used in vinegar, which is used as a condiment & in the pickling of raw vegetables and other foods. It is also used for the manufacture of inks and dyes and in making perfumes.
